PVC Pipe Sourcing from China
We help buyers source PVC-U pressure pipe and drainage pipe from verified Chinese factories. The main quality risk in Chinese PVC pipe is K-value substitution — lower molecular weight compound that dimensions correctly but fails earlier under pressure cycling. We verify K-value at inspection on every order.
What PVC pipes we source
PVC pipe sourcing from China covers two main categories:
- PVC-U pressure pipe — cold water supply, irrigation mains, low-pressure industrial. PN6–PN16, DN20–DN630. ISO 1452 or GB/T 10002. Requires K-value 67 or above.
- PVC-U drainage pipe — gravity sewer, stormwater, building drainage. Non-pressure rated. ISO 1329 or EN 1401. Sized by nominal internal diameter in many markets.
We do not source CPVC (chlorinated PVC) — the Chinese CPVC export market is limited and quality is inconsistent. For hot water applications, PP-R is the better choice.
The K-value problem
K-value is the Fikentscher K-value — a measure of PVC polymer molecular weight. ISO 1452 pressure pipe requires K-value of 67 or above. Lower K-value compound is cheaper and produces pipe that looks correct and dimensions correctly, but fails earlier under pressure cycling.
Chinese factories can and do substitute lower K-value compound. It is invisible without testing. We request the batch COA showing K-value measured per ISO 1628-2 on every order. If the factory can't provide it, we don't proceed.
We also check for excess calcium carbonate filler — visible as white pitting when you cut a pipe cross-section — which is the other common cost-cutting substitution.

How to get a quote
Send us:
- Pipe type (pressure or drainage)
- DN size and PN class
- Standard (ISO 1452, EN 1452, AS/NZS 1477)
- Quantity (metres)
- Destination port
We respond within 24 hours with factory options and indicative pricing. Our commission is 5% of FOB factory price, stated separately.
